Soothing Gremlin Softie
Posted by: annaholler on November 13th, 2009
If you’re looking for both a way to re-purpose the sweaters that your children grow out of and a fun, rainy-day craft project to do together, 5 Orange Potatoes has a neat, creative project for you!
If you ask me, this soothing Gremlin Softie is the perfect new-baby gift. If you use fabric from your own children’s too-snug-sweaters, it can be a touching, sentimental way to pass on a few of your memories to a new member of someones family!
You can choose to use a sewing machine for these stuffed critters, or you can sit down with your child and a thick, dull embroidery needle and work together! If you’re a crafter, like I am, you probably have everything necessary to make this in your home right now… which makes for a perfect spur of the moment project!
Here’s what you’ll need:
thrift sweaters- wool and cotton
wool blend felt
embroidery floss
scissors
thick yarn
buttons
needle
pins
stuffing
You can find the pattern to download at 5 Orange Potatoes! Enjoy yourself, Mums! If you take the time to browse through this site you’ll find that it’s packed with brilliant and inspired ideas for fun things to do with your munchkins!
