THE MUMS

Where Did We Come From?

Amy, stay at home mom to infant Hailey, and Laura, bored, pregnant, administrative assistant, spent their days scouring websites for babies and children and oooh’ed and aaaah’ed over Baby VansSee Kai Run,Sandbox ThreadsBoonVincent and other items that the girls found fit their “unique” style.  Rock & Punk were their specialties.  They wanted their new babies to start out down the right path toward cool.  They knew items like this existed, but you couldn’t find them at your local big box store…One must turn to the internet, and at the time, these two girls specialized in surfing the ‘net.

Together, Amy and Laura brought readers together with unique boutiques, toy stores, and specialty items.  In the meantime (or, fast-forward 3 years later), Hailey became a big girl, and Noel welcomed a brother 2 weeks after his second birthday.  Amy also became a WAHM, and Laura changed careers and changed her family from a threesome to a foursome.  Throughout these changes in their personal lives, they continued their quest to find greatness in baby-dom, kid-dom, and family-dom!  In late 2008, Amy  decided to take a backseat to focus on her lifestyle blog, ParentSphere.  We wish her all the best!

LAURA

Laura is wife to Elliott, mom to toddler Noel and baby Lennon, born in early 2008. She grew up in Kansas City but currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with her family of four. She works full-time while her husband is a stay-at-home-dad. Elliott also runs an eBay business, “The Umbrella Shoppe” from their home. She loves hanging out with all her guys, listening to music, watching TV (especially The Brady Bunch) & all things vintage & kitsch.  If you can’t find her here at Mums or on Twitter, she’s probably at Costco. She doesn’t have Skype or a SmartPhone…yet…but she will very soon.
